I'm of the opposite opinion.....can't drive due to brain-function issues which can't be fixed, and with the public transit system here being like it is, automated cars would be a good thing for people like me.

I also love to drive, always have. I've just gotten to the point that I hate all the other drivers on the roadway as many/most are incompetent of walking and chewing gum at the same time and now are trying to drive,talk and text all at the same time...

When the form of "blue screen of death" occurs on a driver-less car, then what? We may long for the days of drivers distracted texting, talking on their phone, shaving, etc.

Though I could hear the most pleasant voice telling us, in theme park style, reassuring us: "please remain in your cars.....".
