Didn't you already know, if Ponderosa doesn't get at least 2 feet of rain directly over their house, regardless of what happens elsewhere in the Phoenix metroplex, it is considered a Nonsoon!

Was woken up by thunder so loud last night, I'm surprised the windows didn't blow out. It was nice and cool this morning. More like a Silicon Valley summer morning.

I just LOVE these morning monsoon rains...it was 68 as I was driving on the 101 through the reservation this morning. Fall is a-coming!

Some nice thunder and lightning and heavy rain although it was brief. Looks like pretty much all of the Valley has gotten hit in the last day or so.

Oh, Mark, you are such an optimist. This morning was amazing, but.... Forecast for next week is back in the 108-109 range. Yes, fall is coming, just not that soon, I'm afraid.

Observer53, I know what you mean ... I always pay close attention to the length of the days...I know the days are getting shorter so our window for 110+ days is drawing narrower and narrower. It's just a matter of time.

I love the fall season in Phoenix, seems like people get excited, get outside more, etc. You get that lovely fall smell in the air or at least my wife claims that fall has a certain smell here.

Fall still depresses me even though a real winter isn't far behind.

70-90 degree highs, 50-70 degree lows, no humidity, practically no haze.... whats NOT to love?!?!

Im so done with summer already. Time to move on. The depressing reality is we have at least 4-5 more weeks of nasty heat, before we start getting breaks. And September always seems like the month we get the worst flooding, too. Lets hope its better this year!

I guess you don't know ElleTea that well. They would like it to be 200 F or as hot as surface of the sun 24/7/365.

It's not the heat so much as the angle of the sun. I could totally see it had dipped lower to the south when I was in my pool yesterday. That makes me sad. I am not looking forward to needing to wear a jacket, and I will miss the nice hot nights. As cool as it was this AM, I am thinking night swimming is already over for this year.

I also loathe the entire holiday season which seems to start in October and last until February these days, and anything to do with fall (pumpkin spiced everything!), and football.

They are calling for maybe more rain at the end of the week. Seems this monsoon packed it all into one month this year!
