Utah marketing company bringing 500 jobs to Scottsdale

Things seem to really be on the up and up around here lately. Another nice win for the Phoenix area.

Cool, I guess, but the salaries mentioned in the article are pretty sad. I'll cheer when companies move here to recruit well-paid talent.

More low-paying call center jobs. Who could afford to live in (or even near) Scottsdale on $37,000?

There are lots of cheap areas of Scottsdale.

I saw this as a decent thing, more available work for those doing the Community College route. When I was younger, call centers were stable jobs that paid enough to survive. It's not like trying to live on a line cooks salary.

"Up to" $60k as a sales manager? Sounds like a sweatshop. I guess at least jobs are coming in, though.

I dont make too much more than that, and we're ok. I took a massive pay cut coming here from Chicago, but we manage. Its not the easiest thing in the world, but we're happy.

Those jobs also don't typically require any formal education. 60K is not bad for a person without a college degree.

I'm guessing the type of people they will employ will be millennials with roommate situations and pay much less than $1,000/mo for living expenses. Otherwise it would be impossible for these employees to afford the $20 lunches every day in Old Town
