Ok so I just spent three hour hedging my 5 fountain grass plants, thats including clean up time, they still kind of look bad, I'm debating getting rid of them for a low cost maintenance plant? Any idea of the cost of this to have something replanted? Or should I just not be lazy and do it myself? I'm just not sure what I'd replace it with as I have no landscape eye.

Bonus question: If I keep the fountain grass what do those of you who have it do with the cuttings? In the past I just threw it on my green grass and when I mowed it, it would mix in well with the lawn serving as a sort of mulch/grass food.

hey Joe,

Before ripping it out, try this. In very early spring (Feb), cut the grass all the way to the ground. It will resprout from the base. Help it out by fertilizing it in Feb. and watering on a regular schedule (depending on the month.)

Also, I think a hard frost will set it back, but not kill it.
