Just curious.

There is a water park in Gilbert off Hwy 60. Nothing like 6 flags though.

There are several water parks in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

I can think of two major reasons why the Phoenix metropolitan area lacks a major amusement park. First, during the summer, which is the season with the highest amusement park attendance, the weather is too hot. Second, the Phoenix metropolitan area is relatively close to Disneyland and other large theme parks of southern California, so an amusement park in the Phoenix area has too much competition from better-established amusement parks to the west.

What?!?!? Are you trying to tell me that Castle's and Coasters is not the Valley's answer to Six Flags??

Yes, nobody wants to stand in line for 30 min when it is a 115 outside.

The only one I can think of is the Oasis Water Park at Arizona Grand Resort. Never been there, but have friends who have!

Years ago Phoenix had an amusement park...it was called "Legend city". Any of you old timers remember that?

I thought that a water park was going to be built on the east side. Didn't one of the city's have an election where a water park was approved by voters? The water park that was going to be built in Surprise if the other city didn't vote it in. Any word on when that will be built?

There are several water parks in the valley.

An amusement park ala 6 Flags would have difficulty here because of the extreme daytime temps during the Summer - the prime season.

Arizonans go to California for their amusment We love the nickname "Zonies" there

i think it would do well in the winter with travelers from the colder states. Dad could hit up the local golf courses and the kids could enjoy the world class amusement park. Especially since it would have the opposite competition schedule as the park in cold climates.

i heard some rumors and lies that schnepf farms was planning one in Queen Creek.
