Austin.

Feminism and moon gatherings are definitely more aligned with the Austin scene. I mean I assume.

Healthy air? Not Phoenix but probably not Austin either.
Lakes? Not Phoenix.

The other factors could go either way.

Tempe might fit the bill but Austin I'm sure would be more aligned with what you're looking for. Tempe dries up with any sort of festivals or activism type activities as the student body heads out, so summers.

Normal lows are yes, but Austin sees some lows 80+ every year, and I've been to Texas in the summer, and those 75-80 lows with 70+ dewpoints feel disgusting

But you're nowhere near any type of high country or any real relief from the heat.

You're also referencing the highest low in the metro, aka the airport. Live on the outskirts if getting to 75 instead of 85 overnight really matters. Most of us agree that's not worth it anyways. It's our offseason... big deal

I've lived in both cities, and moved from Austin to Phoenix during the summer about a dozen years ago. For me, Austin summers are a bit easier. More recently I've flown to Austin on business in the summer, and those trips confirm my earlier impression.

We don't have to write off summer altogether in Austin, but in Phoenix you do. High of 84 today in Austin, low of 74 tonight... Back to upper 90's/73 tomorrow but upper 80's/71 by Monday.

I tried to get in my pool after work early last week. I was too cold!

Who writes off summer all together? I cycle 3-4 days a week year round in Phoenix, over 3,000 miles a year. It's 82 here right now and perfect outside for anything you want to do. I was in the pool yesterday and we grill out several times a week. Nothing about our summers would incite me to go to Austin. If I didn't like heat Austin would not be on my list as a place to live.
