My problem: I'm not good with maps and distances which is what I'm looking at. Phoenix and Glendale seem close on a map and when I Google distance it says 19 mins. I'm not sure of areas like someone told me about the Arrowhead part of Glendale. I have a job in Glendale, but I was wondering are there any areas in Phoenix that are within a 45 min drive . Just trying to expand my choices for finding a residence, with a good school system. Thanks in advance. Hope I'm you guys can understand what I'm saying.

I'd recommend finding a place in Glendale if that is where you would be working. The commute from Glendale to Phoenix and back is not a fun one. Just ask these folks:

Glendale and Phoenix are right next to each other, they share a border. The travel time between the two are calculated from city center to city center. You could be on the border of the city and your commute time would be 0 minutes. It is really going to depend on where in each city you are trying to commute to/from.
