can people be trusting?trade work 4 rental

I am a single mother although my kids are grown.I am a very capable and skilled home renovater.I have access to alot of materials from previous jobs.I would like to know is there any program or individual that gives people a chance to live in a fixer upper,I don't care what kind of place,it could be in a shambles.3-6mos. and a change in property value?
