Default More Ohioans moving to AZ

My husband and I are moving to the Phoenix area from the Cincinnati area later this year. (It just snowed 15 inches in Cincinnati this weekend!) He will be working in the Gilbert area on Baseline Rd near Val Vista Dr, but he will have to go the the area hospitals as well.
I have read some threads saying that South Chandler is the best place to live. We've found some real estate that appeals to us in that area. What is the commute like from South Chandler to Baseline Rd? How about East Chandler?
We're looking at homes in the $500K range. Any suggestions???
Thanks!

From south Chandler to Val Vista and Baseline will be about 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and exactly where in south Chandler you locate.

South Chandler is good and so is South east Chandler. Gilbert is also excellent, and in both cities you can get a nice home for $500k.

If he is working mostly at Val Vista Rd and Baseline, you may want to look into the Val Vista Lakes community which is right there where he works.

It was awarded the Gilbert best community award for 2007.
Val Vista Lakes - Your Community. It's an excellent community and he would be within 5 minutes of the office.

Default Easy Commute

I drive from South Chandler everyday to Guadalupe Rd, which is one street south of Baseline. It takes me 20 minutes with practically no traffic, at 8:15 am. Nice houses at Fulton Ranch in S Chandler on Ocotillo.

Fulton Ranch is a very nice new community. Ira Fulton is building a huge home (17,000 sf) for himself on the Island in there. The island will consist of custom homes beginning at 3000sf on a half acre with the homes in the $2mil range, and very strict building requirements.

There are a few resale Townhomes for sale in the Crescent Falls sub-community around $500k. The single family homes are mostly new builds at this time. I don't see any sfh listed for sale in there currently at under $600k.

The only community amenities are the walking paths with look out points and sitting areas along the little lakes with their water features.

But it is a beautiful area.
