I've experienced the Middle East twice in my life, I can attest that it truly makes Phoenix seem like a cake walk. I regularly tell people that it's really not that bad here, within 2 hours driving you've got a lot of cooler options and our heat index never hits the 130s, that is truly brutal

This weekend it hit 141F real feel and dew point of 88F.

Anyway, yes it's hot in Phoenix but not comparable to the Middle East. As I mentioned recently, my sliding glass door recently completely shattered from the heat differential with the AC I had on at 70F and the outside air possibly combined with the sun heat energy coming in.

Another chance at the end of humidity here. I can't wait :-) It's supposed to dry out now for all of next week.

Don't count on long term dry stretches until October but I would welcome the dry air with open arms right now. I'm even seeing a few lows in the 70s, summer is beginning to lighten up.

Then what the heck is with the 65 degree dew point and 60% humidity this morning? I was soaked just taking the trash out at 6:15 AM!

Dews are supposed to drop to the 40s tonight. Blythe had dews in the 30s this morning, so the dry air is just to the west

^^It's nice to see others who enjoy dry air as I do! On the local news they'll joyfully mention, "and a drop in temperatures", But I find that this time of the year, the lower the daytime high, the more uncomfortable it is out. Dewpoint and the nightime low are the important numbers here. It will be a nice few days ahead.

It rained at our place again last night, it's turning out to be a fairly wet monsoon this year. The good news is our water supply should be in good shape, bad news we're likely to remain sticky for a few more weeks. As much as I dislike humidity the cloudy mornings and evenings have made for some great photo ops and the high country is super green right now. There are a few positives with it.
