Glad you made the trip safely. We drive phx->den->phx probably once a year on average. I've driven it straight through by myself a couple of times, but lately we've been taking two days each way. We're getting old, I guess!

I'm glad you got to see the Flagstaff/Phoenix part of I-17. That's one of the prettiest interstate drives in the country, IMO.

Thank you all SO MUCH for your tips and advice! We ended up on a late start leaving CO, had a caravan of a car, followed by a 26' Uhaul, followed by a pickup pulling a small trailer. We used walkie-talkies to communicate (HIGHLY recommend, cell phone service was awful and non-exhistant much of the way here), and stayed in Gallup for the night in a pet friendly hotel. Started out fresh the next morning and arrived to our new home in Surprise at 2:00. I would recommend splitting the trip. We lived in Colorado so used to mountain driving but when exhausted from packing for weeks, loading for hours and driving for hours, I don't recommend driving south from Flagstaff in the dark after driving all. Stay over, start fresh and enjoy the beauty! Thank you again, the advice was priceless!
