I need some help on findings apartments with Indian community as well as good school. I looked into the forum and looks like Chandler is my best bet. Since I will be working on Phoenix, AZ 85018 Tempe also will work out for me. I understand that you can send your kids to any school but since my wife will not going to drive, I am looking for school transportation. My kid is in grade V and i need help with apartment names.

I looked Townesquare in 85226 but I didn't felt very great about this apartment. Any other apartment in Tempe or Chandler that fit my requirments. Appreciate your help.

Why not assimilate into the surrounding culture?

How is asking for an Indian neighborhood different from someone coming on here and asking about living in a white neighborhood?

Chandler is definitely where you’ll find the highest concentration of Indians. There’s also a pocket in north Phoenix near Bell and the 51 (some great veg/S Indian restaurants there too). Really, live near work/school if you can. You should feel welcome anywhere.

Why live in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and segregate yourself by race. If you want to live with people from India why not live in India?

For some people, including, apparently, the original poster here, there is a certain comfort level to be found in having at least some people from one's home country around. It can make assimilation easier, and there's a lot to be learned from countrymen and women who have already been through the process.

new_desi, it's a bit difficult to give you specific apartment complex names. I would start, perhaps, with those closest to the Intel plant in Chandler. Or, you might make contact here Phoenix Indian Center to get some advice.

Because India is obviously not a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, heavily class (caste) stratified country with over twenty different official languages (not to mention a variety of religions, despite Hinduism's dominant position).

Very valid point, I agree with you. It is just a initial comfort and transition of getting quick social life when you move with family having two kids who are raised in certain culture.
