Good info, thank you. The ticket was in Scottsdale so I'll have to look into the "alternative service" Observer mentioned.

If your community is gated you have a significantly better chance of not being served at all.

Pay the fine or go to driving school. You broke the law. Or, if you did not, fight the thing.

If this is aimed at me, if I have to follow the law then so do they. "If" we get served then we'll take the one of the options. By the way, it isn't "pay it or go to traffic school" it's pay it, or pay it AND pay traffic school.
Whichever of those choices you make you will not get away from shelling out $$$$.

Just wondering, am I correct in the thought that if you get nailed by a camera it doesn't put points on vs being stopped by an actual human? I thought I'd read that somewhere.

I think it was directed at me but either way, I think it is pay the fine and get points or pay for traffic school and don't receive points. I don't believe you pay the fine AND pay for traffic school. The cost of traffic school is almost as much as the fine anyway.

Excellent advice!

I am always amazed at how many will waste hours, whatever that's worth, as well as lots of money, fighting a citation of which they are guilty.

NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION . . . PAY THE FINE and consider it a LESSON LEARNED.

Whatever happened to the adult approach of accepting responsibility for our actions?

How is not responding (to force proper service) wasting more time than sitting through traffic school?

Actually, I had to go to traffic school following a valid speeding ticket (though not photo rader). I was speeding, I was breaking the law, and I went to traffic school. That was around 1991, and I STILL remember some of the stuff I learned and some of the photo's they showed. I openly admit I became a better driver following that long, long day at traffic school.

It's taken online now which I bet is probably less effective. I'll let you know soon though!

Actually, I took the online course several years ago (don't even remember what the ticket was for!) and found that I still learned some new things.
