I assume I am a "sun freak" so I'll reply. We can't CHANGE the weather. It is what it is. It's very nice outside right now, good or bad for the big picture. Complaining that it isn't cold enough is not going to change a thing, make fire season any less dangerous, or create more snow anywhere. Just enjoy it for what it is; much nicer than most of the rest of the country right now. To assume that someone likes warm weather doesn't care about any of those things is just flat out preposterous.

What should people do to change the weather? Complain to someone? You act as if the “sun freaks” caused the warm weather.

I feel your pain. I live in the tropics and have been cooking potatoes in the rice steamer basket to take the edge off the cold nights. It almost dropped below 50F one night..brrr!.

It's been nice here in Sierra Vista. Cool in the mornings, 70's by afternoon. Have only been here since September & still can't believe I have windows open in January. What an amazing difference.

I was at the Pavilions in Scottsdale on the 20th. Got there around 7 PM, and by 7:30 they called off the car show due to the crap weather. The rain wasn't fun, but the temps were nice.
I'd write a very heated letter to the National Weather Service if I were you.

Actually, humans can change the weather to a certain point. Cloud seeding was invented as one way to do just that. All in all, opinions about the weather conditions vary from person to person, and that's fine. You prefer warm and sunny, as do many others ... however, not all of us enjoy the results, such as low humidity levels that are more typical of May or June which are drying our skin & eyes, as well as elevating sinus issues. Not all of us enjoy the higher water bills due to the lack of moisture. What concerns me the most is this is yet another in a long string of warm, dry winters which are putting a strain on the water supplies and creating tinder dry fire conditions ... so yes, unlike many sun freaks, I think outside the box and look at the big picture.

Funny you mention complaining, because the sun freaks are the first ones to complain whenever it's too cloudy, too cold, too humid, or too rainy.

I was in Chicago during the holidays. Consistent days of -4 to -8 degrees weather. I just want to smack someone who complains of 80 degrees weather.

I'll take 120 degrees heat to -8 degrees degrees, any damn day.

Just like we are having abnormally warm weather, they were having abnormally cold weather. The difference here is that in a few months they will all be outside going "ahhhh" while we will be heading indoors going "ughhhh". No place is perfect. Well, maybe San Diego, but that's beside the point.
