The budget bill was passed this morning and the Gov has signed it. It addressed pay raises and additional money for staff and general operations. Is it enough. No, AZ is still near last in educational commitment. It's over for now, but teachers plan to work through the initiative process to get a reliable education funding source going forward as the legislature is not politically capable of addressing the problem. All schools should be open tomorrow.

Teachers and the millions of Arizonans who stood alongside them have tasted their power. As Brewer said a couple days ago, a sleeping giant has awoken.

Because it has nothing do with education, it's a political issue and Red for Ed agenda using the kids as pawns & leverage

there is a mixed message out there, depending on what channel you watch; NO ONE is confirming 100% that this is over and all schools will be open Friday..
watch 3 different channels right now, and get 3 different messages..

No, the announcements from the schools depend on if teachers call out. But they are not going to. They had a deal and they will keep it even if the legislature did not (by dragging it out another day). Teachers are honorable, politicians are slime.

A music teacher in Tolleson (impoverished town in western metro area). A latter-day Jimmy Hoffa (or is it Karl Marx) for sure.
