Those who are new here claim to like the heat because of the lack of humidity, but many of them sing a different tune after a few years here because it becomes monotonous & seemingly never ending. Keep in mind also the weather pattern has been abnormal lately. We usually DON'T hit 100 degrees in April, but it was unusually warm here this winter, so it was pretty much expected that the spring would be unusually warm as well.

As far as water: yes it's a concern, but we have plenty of water sources: the CAP, as well as a number of reservoirs east of here. Despite the fact that we've been in a drought cycle for a while, there was smart planning many years ago on the water supplies. There is no foreseeable danger of running close to dangerous or critical levels. If it was a critical drought situation, Phoenix would have been under mandatory restrictions by now.
It doesn't always happen that way. The winter of 2014-2015 was a very warm one here; but May 2015 was one of the coolest May's we've had

And you're right about not always hitting 100 in April. This was the first year since 2013 that we hit an April 100°.

And in the years that I've lived here (since 2001), these are the years that have hit 100 in April:

2001,2002,2007,2009,2011,2012,2013,2018 or 8 out of 18 years

May, 2015 was cooler than average, but I'd hesitate to say that it was one of the coolest ever. I'm pretty sure that one of the reasons the overall temperatures were below normal was due to the fact that it was the second wettest May on record (1.17 inches). We rarely ever have that kind of rainfall during late April, May, or June.

You should have been here in 1998 when we had a very nice, cool spring. We didn't hit 100 that year until June 2nd, which was one of the latest occurrences on record.

Whats with all the wind lately? I thought the wind would have blown out the haze last night, but this morning was as hazy as ever.

April and early May are the windiest time of the year in the Southwest

Cold front is moving through, I'll take the wind and enjoy temps in the 70's this week.

can you actually say "cold" when referring to anything moving through here this time of year?

Every 5-7 years, we will get days that are like High 68 Low 55 at the end of April. Considering the normals are 90/65 today, that is quite cold for the time of year, and is noticeable because it usually has clouds and cool winds accompanying it

ITs so bad there are skinnies in toyota trucks with AK-47's roaming around and constant conflict, squelching heat. The place looks like a scene out of mad max.

For sure, but this spring seems exceptionally windy, no?
