Default people from Ohio that moved to Phoenix

I would like to get some views from people that lived in Ohio that moved to Phoenix. Do you like it? What is the best and worst part? Anything would be helpful.

I also responded to your other post I believe. ;-)

I love it.

Best: weather.

Worst: avoid the freeways during rush hour. at least the 101 is a parking lot some days. (I intentionally planned my commute to work so I dont need to use the freeways.)

I did that exact thing...I loved it there but the crime rate is very high. If I was to ever move out west agin I would move north of Phoenix, maybe Prescott. That way you have the best of both worlds.

Hmmm, you say the crime rate is high and you say youre back in Cleveland which has a higher crime rate than Phoenix

I guess I could add....I live in Ohio and have been to the Phoenix area (mainly Scottsdale) a couple years in a row for a week or two.

I love the golf, the weather some months of the year, and I also really enjoy the ladies .

Personally , I dont know if I could ever live there. The heat during the summer is crazy and it lasts for months. I think that would really get to me. But for certain months, the weather is awesome.

I guess its all on what youre looking and lining up the pros and cons

Default Great responses

I do not see how anyone could live in Cleveland and talk about crime rate. I thought it was crazy there too. I am worried about the heat also but I might just move farther up north to get away from all that and then I can not complain about the weather.

A good time to buy up North. I had no intentions of moving up North when I bought my forty acres four years ago. Now I wish I would have bought three or four parcels. Now, since I can't even get to McDonald Drive on the 101 in any reasonable decent time in the morning and the heat and the illegals affecting everything and the winters getting warmer and the road rage getting despicable and the people getting badder and the smog getting worse Big city life has got me down, Too many cars can't get around, And soon I'll have to leave this town, Gotta get away to the country life. No room to move bad air we breathe, smoke and pollution's got me weak, I miss the farm and the big oak trees, Gotta get away to the country life.

Try to touch ten acres up North for what I paid for forty. Have forty more now and a home. I found out 2 years ago about the homes being built in Prescott Valley, has Granville and more homes coming.

A water problem? No biggie! Phoenix will have one too. How long have they been talking drought? Ever since I've been here. Now the GCAEC will probably build their big deal up there. Maybe between Seligman and Ash Fork. The locals say "Where will they get the water"? Well, the same way the Valley has survived. They'll get it. Big money talks, BS walks. Even if it becomes a crisis us older folks will just go the way of the Hohokam. By the way, I detest Phoenix and Mesa. But I can understand a person just coming here would find it attractive. You haven't had a cumulative effect over a number of years of all the BS.

For those who have the convenience of picking their times to go places? I don't have that option. Many people don't. The only thing I can do is leave early and avoid rush hour. But it still gets to you. I'm one that has charitable activities with animals to do and I can't always pick and choose when I go.

Sterling, Ohio. Small town 12 miles South of Medina. Loved it looking back. Traveled all over Southern Ohio in High School tending to chickens that were farmed out by Sterling Hatchery to the Amish. Mount Hope, Walnut Creek, Berlin, Winesburg, many others. Maibach's Furniture Store in Sterling is known statewide.

Yes if you are talking about getto Cleveland. The city itself has more crime than Phoenix. However if you move into the outskirts of Cleveland, the crime level drops significantly. The nice areas of Cleveland don't have anywhere near the same amount of crime that the nice areas of Phoenix have. Lets not mislead anyone here.
