I worked in Saudi and now in Kuwait....it gets hot enough here to make Phoenix seems like Alaska. Anyway, after spending a brutal summer in Saudi, I took a vacation to Malaysia which is basically like south Florida in the summer except on the equator, it's like that all year long in Malaysia and I never got hot because 90F in the afternoon there is cooler than the 0600 temp in Saudi in the summer.

Sorry for the long story....I think people get tired of the negative factors wherever they live (except Cali)....people in Minnesota get sick of the cold, Seattle gets sick of the gray, Orlando gets sick of the heat and humidity and Phoenix people get sick of the persistent heat and sun.

After years of SADD winters in the PNW, I could use a little too much sun for a few years.

The average high drops below 90 around mid-October, so 90s should be expected but the lows go back to the 60s, the days are shorter, and the intensity dials way back from August/September.

There wasn’t a single 90 degree high in November last year. I didn’t go back the last 4 November’s but that would be rare.

From 2001 to 2017, our averaged last 90° is November 2nd. Though our average last normal high of 90° is October 13th. Our normal high November 2nd is 82°

Nashville: 5/10 - too humid in summer, yuck winters
Chicago: 6/10 - too cold in winter, enjoyable summers
Scottsdale: 7.5/10 - too hot for too long in summer, nice winters

Well, I've only lived in Phoenix and Tucson, and Tucson is a bit better.

I'd give Phoenix 5/10. The awful heat that started this weekend and typically lasts into October nullifies any benefit from the cooler months. My perfect climate would be coastal southern California or maybe Hawaii.

Hyperbole much? Average summer highs in Kuwait City are almost identical to Phoenix. Riyadh is about 5 Fahrenheit degrees warmer.

Have you even been here a whole year yet (or even a summer to fall?)?

I love the heat, love the fact that it is starting early because that means pool season starts early! This is my favorite time of year here, when it's mostly clear skies, hot days, warm nights. Once mid-late June hits and monsoon season is here, the clouds roll in and the rain chances get higher. I almost feel like we only get about 6 weeks of really great summer weather until monsoon comes and ruins it

The Gulf is extremely humid. Kuwait will have the same temperatures but 80% humidity. So it's extremely miserable. Dubai is like that too.

Actually, they are about 10° hotter, more similar to Death Valley temp wise, and humidity can vary in Kuwait in summer depending on wind direction since they are right on the Persian Gulf.
