This weekend, go to the Tempe Festival of the Arts. There you will find artisans from all over the country, live entertainment, food...and it's free! Well, if you don't buy anything.

Come ride a horse in Cave Creek and then visit one of the saloons in the evening to watch a country western band perform.

I agree, take a hike, but it is getting hot so go early in AM and take PLENTY of water (not just a little bottle)...and South Mountain stables has an awesome sunset horseback ride to the T-Bone steak house and back, and reasonable priced if you ask me! Experience life of the Ol West!
