Does anyone have input on this area for someone who is planning to move to Phoenix area? I'm likely going to have a job in the legal center of the city. Looking for a 3-4 bedroom home in a community for under 300K. We've got 2 kids, one in jr high, and another in diapers. Any other suggestions?

I'm not familiar with Madison Park, but I wanted to say that Verrado is a very nice community. We ended up moving about 10 minutes East of there, in Palm Valley. My husband commutes to Sky Harbor and it takes about 30 minutes very early in the morning and about an hour at other times.

Anywhere in Verrado will be beautiful. Right now $300,000 will get you way more than it did a year ago. Ashton Woods has some beautiful models - about 1800 sq ft for about $210,000 (of course, upgrades not included). Have you actually visited Verrado? It's "out there" - but has it's own little "main street" with some shops, but major shopping I believe you still have to travel quite a way for - which for me doesn't matter, but lots of people seem to find that to be an issue. Marley Park in Surprise is also a beautiful development and not that far from Verrado. Also a little less expensive. There are plenty of builders in both developments.

P.S. What do you mean by "legal center of the city"?
