Welcome to the forum compassphoenix

After I remove my screens, I spray the window with Windex
then use a real light/soft steel wool over the entire window
paying close attention to the corners, then I spray again with the
Windex. Take a squeegee starting at the top going down using
your towel to suck up the excess on the squeegee.

I then Spray the entire window with ' Spray-Away ' glass
cleaner, it leaves no film so it's great in the bathroom as well

and removing puppy nose art

I DEFINITELY would not recommend steel wool. The risk if tiny scratches is too great.

The "trick" is to use distilled water in a clean bucket and add about a drop of dish liquid (doesn't take much at all.)

Use a clean microfiber cloth (one that hasn't had fabric softener used on it) to wash the windows with the water/soap mix. Use a good amount of water with your cloth.

Use a dry microfiber cloth to dry it.

If you don't want to use expensive bottled distilled water, your RO water is second best. What EVER you do, don't use tap water, even if you have a water softener.

Homemade Streak-Free Window Cleaner

1/2 bottle of Jet Dry rinse aid (or approximately 3 1/2 ounces)
4 Tablespoons rubbing alcohol
1/4 cup ammonia
1/4 cup dishwashing detergent
2 gallons of hot water

Spray with water, dip microfiber towel in above mix and scrub window, rinse with water and walk away.

Because I have a raging fragrance sensitivity, all store bought chemicals are right out for me.

Thus, I use the old tried and true, which I use for cleaning pretty much everything including (with great success) windows.

Fill an empty spray bottle:

1/2 vinegar
1/2 water
1 or 2 drops dish soap

What could be easier, on your lungs, your wallet, and your windows?
