Default Phoenix to go dark for 1 hour tonight

For an hour tonight between 8 and 9, darkness will fall upon downtown Phoenix. At least that's the plan.

Phoenix is a flagship city in Earth Hour, an international endeavor in which it is hoped that millions will band together to conserve energy by turning off their lights

Default Tom Bodet

But Tom Bodet always said they'd leave the light on!

Kidding !

But seriously, I'm envisioning a blackout condition and a crime spree...!

Am I off base on this one?

If Phoenix goes dark for an hour I would keep a weapon handy.

Google already did... since last night. I don't know about us. It won't make any difference anyway as it's always dark.

It's almost 8 o'clock now here in Phoenix, and I'm going to turn on America's Most Wanted in a minuteor two. Maybe that will keep the bad guys away for awhile.

Well, it's already past 9. Let us know what happened! Yeah, it's kinda silly to announce something like this... it's like open season. Such worthless things really get on my nerves. Google is still black. Good grief.

Crap! I forgot about it. I'll turn off all my lights for at least six hours when I go to bed in awhile...will that make up for it?
