I found an interesting data plotter here, and this plots the top most frequent advisory types by NWS office. I have attached the most frequent ones by NWS Phoenix:

Areal Flood Advisory is not too surprising, but I'm surprised that from 2009-2018 there have been more Severe Thunderstorm Warnings than Dust Storm Warnings. In fact, even Flash Flood Warnings outnumber Dust Storm Warnings. Hard Freeze Warnings and Tornado Warnings seem to be very rare, and tropical cyclone advisories such as Tropical Storm or Hurricane Warnings do not appear on the list at all, nor do Blizzard Warnings.

Dense fog advisories here? That was interesting.

I actually wonder, when does NWS Phoenix actually issue Heat Advisories? I don't think I have ever seen it before. I see Excessive Heat Warnings when it gets really hot, but never Heat Advisories. Perhaps they are only issued during times of year where it gets atypically hot for that time of year.

For comparison, here is what NWS Phoenix has issued year-to-date only.

The Dust Advisory (shown as "Dust Storm Advisory") is a new introduction for 2018, which is lesser impact than a Dust Storm Warning.
