I've lived here a long time, and I remember some of these hurricane remnants coming in here from as far back as the 60's.
I also remember Norbert. We had plans to go to Cabo a month after that but the Cabo Airport, and much of area, took a pretty serious hit. We were able to change out reservations to Puerto Vallarta.

I'm selfishly hoping this either doesn't bring much rain or stays away from my part of town. One of the last monsoon storms this year brought over 4" of rain to my neighborhood and i had some crazy flooding. I do not want to go through that again.

They've been coming for many, many years. The weather service routinely over-hypes them calling for heavy rains and flooding which more often then not end up as just a few clouds, light rain, a couple of days of below normal temps and little else. This one is shaping up the same way as the storm looks to stay to the west of us.

My wife and I have been laughing endlessly at the hype that several of the weather "reporters" have been spitting out the last 48 hours; we've gotten a whopping 0,05 inches of massive, tropical storm downpours here in my area so far..
I know that can all change quickly here, but it sure doesn't look like it will be the "monster" storm, that so many of these weather readers have been babbling about..

Rosa seems confused. She's been stuck in Rocky Point most of the day. Hasn't wanted to make her way north yet.

We got almost an inch in the bucket through this morning, so I can't complain about that. But that was not the main event and the main event, so far, is nowhere to be seen.

While I do not think the world is going to end or anything - the MAIN even is just now crossing the US border between Yuma and Gila Bend.

It's a dud as most everyone expected. Except for the September 8, 2014 freak event, storms here are comparatively weak an uneventful. Sure, we have monsoon induced storms that can make things pretty wild for 10-15 minutes, but any larger storm system here is we have here is yawnworthy. I know news stations blow these things up for ratings, but with every "storm" they forecast that turns out to be moderate rain at worst, they lose more and more credibility.

Saw a video tonight of Yuma and Oh my gosh!! Crazy winds, torrential rain and flooding. I sure hope it doesn't hit here like that! Hoping it IS a bunch of hype.
