Greetings,

Gas prices appear $.50 higher here in AZ than I see on the east coast. I'm paying about 2.70-2.80 in Peoria, and the other week in the Mid-Atlantic I was paying 2.20-2.30.

I've not been here long (and am a full time resident) , but wondered if it was some snow bird gouging ?

Or some California blend BS that we get or have to take because of their volume of production...

I keep hearing that crude prices are at low levels but seems disconnected here at least versus east coast...

Thoughts ?

-Ed

Not sure what's going on in Phoenix, but here in Tucson I paid $2.25 just yesterday.

It was earlier in December, but I went through Tucson and paid $2.19 at Costco.

Central Texas is 1.89 to 2.25 for regular unleaded. Premium .50 higher.

Depends on where you are in the valley and what gas station you go to. I paid $2.79 in the East Valley (Mesa) but saw Arco selling gas for $2.50. East coast tends to be a little cheaper.

Cottonwood gas is running $2.69 to $2.79. I filled up in Kingman yesterday for $2.99. There is one station that charges a little over $3.00 but they are the one and only true full service station around. They don't do much business in gas sales but they have a garage that stays pretty busy.

Snow birds? Check out the prices in Alaska and Hawaii-they're about a dollar more per gallon than you're paying. The upside is that when you're in either of these states ya just don't want to drive much.
