Ok, folks...so first it was Anthem now I am wondering about Cave Creek.
Is it a nice area? How is the crime up there? Would the commute be horrible to West Peoria Ave in Phoenix? I checked and it's 18 miles. I found a rental home up there that I really like and it's perfect for my family...plan on calling about it tomorrow, but wanted to get some input about the town first. Thank you for any info you can give!! |

Cave Creek is a very nice area. I ant tell you about the commute though , though it has to be better than Anthems.

Cave Creek is very nice. Not much crime, quiet, laid back. The 101 over there is nasty in the morning, but if you're heading west you'd be against most of the traffic.
We rented a house over off Cave Creek Rd. just south of Carefree Hwy while our house was being built. The neighborhood was decent, no complaints. North of Carefree Hwy is the "real" Cave Creek though. It is the complete opposite of Anthem though so I don't think you can really compare the two. Anthem is a MPC, houses on top of each other, a lot of community amenities, etc. Cave Creek is more rural. Depends what you're looking for. Good luck. |

Cave Creek is a nice area. The commute will be 15 mintues longer than Anthem since it about 10 miles farther east and about the same distance north. |

Thanks for all of your replies! Yeah, after I posted this I realized that the house I was looking at was in a neighborhood outside of Cave Creek...just has a Cave Creek address. After talking to the owner today I am very excited! Sounds like the area would be perfect for us. And I am eager to explore the town of Cave Creek...heard they still have a rodeo and everything. Sounds very neat. My husband is going to look at a house tomorrow so hopefully after that we will be all set!!

I live in the north part of Cave Creek. We have a running joke that it takes 45 minutes to get to anywhere in Phoenix, longer if you want to go south of Bell Road. It's usually quiet at night, you can see the stars most of the time. We are getting a bit more light pollution due to Anthem and Phoenix creeping closer and closer. It's also about 15 degrees cooler than Phoenix here at night, no heat islands, no blacktop road.
Bring your tractor, you may have to do your own road maintenance. The city won't touch ours. |

Cave Creek is wonderful, I used to work up there at one point when I lived in the valley. The cost of living seems rather high up that way, but if you can afford it then go for it. It would be a great place to live and raise a family.
