Most certainly, and it's one treatment that makes them look very nice. It's very common to stucco cinder block walls. It looks quite attractive and is very popular.

Thanks I think that backing to a common area with the open fence really helps to open up the small yard too.

What's the average cost to have an average sized back yard/wall stuccoed? Are we talking in the high hundreds, or several thousand?

If I remember correctly, it cost us $1200 for the labor to have it stuccoed and painted, plus materials, which were a few hundred. This was through a friend of a friend type of thing, not hiring an actual company to do it, but the guy knew what he was doing.

I would say our yard is a bit larger then average, but nothing huge by any means, around 7500 sq ft lot.

But again, I never did care much for block walls. It almost seems that if you 'have to' have them, youre too close to the next house.
Yea ok...it's called living in the city. What you're describing in the midwest is country living.

Even if I had an acre lot, I would still want privacy in the backyard for swimming...naked...for example.

They just don't make yards like they used to.

After living here my whole life I don't think I could ever not have a fense around my yard. I visit back in the midwest and feel weird when I can see the neighbors. Where's the privacy?? I'm a VERY private person and like my boundaries.
