When people come in from the heat and are sweaty and sticky they want to cool down quickly and dry up. Places understand that people are happier if they are cool and dry then having the A/C set at a level where it takes a long time to cool down and dry up.

The place I get my haircut at leaves the A/C at a comfortable level but when you go in out of the heat it takes a long time to cool down and quit sweating. I would rather it be cooler so I cool down quicker and quit sweating. Getting a haircut when you're sweating isn't ideal.

I appreciate the cold AC. Never a complaint from me if someone cranks up their AC. Better a tad too cool than too hot when inside

I suppose it is the same reason why (all to often) they freeze your arse off on the plane. In establishments where there are working bees (servers, cooks, flight attendants) the employees are hot from being active. I've observed this in reverse. In the winter up north, servers want it cooler in the restaurant and set the temp in the upper 60's and I freeze. When I ask for a pleasant temp, I often get the feedback from the server (for instance) that the cooler temps "feels great".

Another possibility is that the temps are set for an office worker etc and their zones are all messed up.

Churches and theaters are other places that are really cold. Some places in Texas, you felt like you were in a meat locker. I feel like a little grandma when I have to carry a little jacket to wear when it is over 100 outside. LOL

I agree

I guess I like/handle the heat so when things are cold it bothers me. I get if you are running or you did some outdoor labor and it's nice to feel the A/C after but just walking around it's a bit much. I generally don't like A/C all that much itself. It gets too cold and too dry, just feels to unnatural. I keep my place between 78-82

Works keeps the AC at 73. I need to keep a light jacket around, and a lot of people here have either light jackets or long sleeve shirts. It's ridiculous. It does feel nice to just sit in the car for a few minutes before firing it up, just to thaw out a bit, as someone said earlier.

Try and get some snacks out of this place or some more RAM to actually be productive, and it's a bunch of hemming an hawing. But hey, a collection of summer electric bills that would put the average worker in the metro in debt for the next 20 years, no problem.

I wear long sleeves all summer long for that reason.

Oh, and because when they removed the skin cancer from my back they told me the more covered you are the better. So that too.

The only place that I ever think has more AC than necessary is Chase Field. Our seats seem to be strategically located under a blower. My wife usually brings a sweater.

They keep it cooler there so you don't fall asleep. Too warm and people tend to doze off.

It's much warmer at field level, that may be why. We often sit in the second row and as we head up to the concourse it gets colder and colder.
