Default Moving to Sun City Grand?

I may have posted this already...if so, sorry. I'm having a little difficulty with my computer.

We were in Sun City Grand last week and found several houses that we're interested in. I was just wondering if anyone on this forum lives in Sun City Grand and how they like it. Also, any drawbacks?

Both houses have a swimming pool...any thoughts on that? Upkeep? Problems?

And I'm one of those timid souls who are terrified of scorpions and spiders. We talked to a number of people there, and there didn't seem to be a problem...especially if you have pest control. Has anyone here experienced them in Grand?

Arizona is looking mighty appealing. Especially since it was raining when we got back to Wisconsin last night and it's snowing again.

Thanks folks!

Default Sc Grand

Sun City Grand is pretty big!

It is going to be just minutes from the future 303 freeway and the Prasada Mall and 303 Auto Mall.

In other words, if you like a place that is "up and coming", then you should like the Sun City Grand/Surprise area!

Yep, it's right in the middle of the 'future of the west valley'.

We don't know anyone that lives in Sun City Grand, so I'm unable to help answer specific questions about it. However, it is a very nice area, and a good choice in my opinion.

We have had several clients in S.C.Grand and we like the development overall. The clients all love living there.

Look into the construction defects lawsuit by many SCG residents against the builder, and make sure that your prospective house does not have the alleged defects.

I live in Sun City Grand....and have our home on the market. We were required to disclose whether or not our home had any pending litigation regarding construction etc.
We LOVE the development other than one thing.....the men's and ladies golf clubs are very large, and not what we were looking for. tee times are also a bit of a challenge if you don't pre-book them by several days. We found ourselves golfing elsewhere on many occassions because of this.
As for pools, we spoke to several people within Grand over the years and they mention that pool service is reasonable (under $100) for weekly cleaning maintenance and chemicals.
Sun city Grand is well run, amenities are first class, fitness centres are fabulous, people are friendly......it's EUTOPIA in most people's opinion that live there! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it....(even tho we're moving).
As for the construction defects, the lawyers involved heavily solicited residents to join the mass suit against Pulte. I think there are some genuine cases...however, there are probably many "junk" filings from individuals claiming for normal wear and tear.

Can you tell me if there are very many people in their late 50's and early 60's in Sun City Grand? I saw on the webpage they have a Baby Boomer group now. I want to move there but I am having a problem getting age statistics on SC Grand. I would like to be around younger seniors if possible (I'm 57). I would consider Festival but it is so far away from everything. Thanks!
