We purchased a home that is currently being built so we don't live there yet. We really like the area and we find it to feel very "rural" even though it's only 20 miles from the 5th largest city in the United States. North of I10 is very nice around Palm Valley. We purchased our home south of I10 with the hopes it would grow into something similar to Palm Valley. People seem friendly and there is about anything we want in close proximity.

The negatives we seen were that it was right next to Avondale which didn't seem or feel as 'nice'. The I10 had a lot of traffic in the evening around Goodyear.

I'm sure someone that currently lives there can give you more specifics.

We are currently living in Buckeye but we are planning to move to Goodyear. Goodyear is growing fast - Cancer Center of America will be opening Spring of 2009, Estrella Mall, etc... Spring Training for 2 major league baseball. I would visit Goodyear's website. I have a son and the school district is way better than Buckeye and I will be closer to work. So, I only know positive facts about Goodyear, maybe someone else can give you the negatives. hope this helps

We live in Palm Valley and I just looked up the Goodyear city website and I was suprised at the number of restaurants coming to the McDowell/Pebble Creek/Bullard area. We are quite happy here. My only complaint would be the lack of weather-related variety. If I could transplant my house, neighborhood, shops, gym, etc to another state, that would be perfect

When you get here, be sure to check out Lifetime Fitness. I grew up in SoCal, where many things are done on a grand scale, but I'm quite impressed by this gym. We've been hanging out by the outdoor pool and enjoying it. Even the umbrellas have misters.

My friends live in goodyear and my husband is a realtor. That is the main reason we are moving to Goodyear - lots of development going on and get me closer to work (Phoenix)
