Unhappy uneasy in gilbert

I live in Gilbert, AZ and here lately Ive been feeling a lil unsafe. I live on Greenfield between warner ave and ray road. Here lately my home has been tampered with and some cars on my street have been broken into, Im hearing strange noises at night and the other morning while walking in the greenbelt I found makeshift pipe and beer cans at the tot lot. I moved to this area because it was supposed to be safe. Heck I moved here from Scottsdale where my car got stole and while swimming at my condominium complex pool with my two babies my pool bag was stolen, broad daylight, mere feet from us!!!! Last year in gilbert two crack heads tried to break into a home at the end of this street (IN BROAD DAYLIGHT) the woman was home so they went to the house next DOOR!!!

Im just wondering if anybody else in GILBERT is feeling uneasy these days as well or if have you been having a more positive situation that can help put a positive spin on mine I would like to hear about it =)

My ex-coworker lives in gilbert. Ray and Gilbert roads. His back yard was burglarized last year and his smoker grill was taken. His neighbors saw the perps and called the police. They were later apprehended and he got the grill back. I believe he talked to his neighbors and they said there were a lot of burglary attempts in the area. I would check the azcentral crime reports to see recent activity in your area.

Default Crime is coming over from the West Side

I have been watching the news lately and see just as much crime on the west side of the valley as before, but what is surprising is that alot more things seem to be happening on the East side also.

I too thought it was fairly safe in Gilbert, Chandler. Now I am not so sure. This may be an indication of what is to come with more and more people coming here.

I heard today there are 70,000 criminals in Maricopa County who are living in hideaways and should be in jail. Not a nice statistic !!

OMG you might as well put bars on your windows and hire 24/7 bodyguards. I have lived in Mesa/Tempe for the past three years. Chandler/Gilbert is one of the safest areas i have ever visited let alone lived in. It's pretty obvious that any crime in this area is done by bored surburban white teenagers. I was scared to walk from my driveway to my door past 9pm in Mesa. You do know that there is crime in N. Dakota too right?

Exactly. There is crime everywhere, Gilbert is one of the safest places you can choose to live. I would love to find "happy puppy kisses rainbow land" but it doesn't exist. If you live your life thinking it can't happen to you you'll probably be a target. If you live your life in constant fear you'll be miserable. Pick a safe place to live (gilbert is one) and do common sense things to protect your family.

I am saddened to think that the are of Ray/ Greenfield is unsafe. I used to live there. Loved that area, always felt safe. I have been gone almost 3 years now. I do believe Gilbert is one of the safest areas of the valley.

Correct me please if I am wrong...

I have a friend who lives on Ray/Greenfield and she has never had any problems. She lives alone in a house of her own and leaves windows open during the day and nothing has ever happened.
