I think you've just described the entire West. In general we're a bit more tolerant and accepting and think more of "do your own thing" than people in the South and Northeast.

Did it ever occur to you that Arizona is 4 percent Black, Phoenix 5 percent Black, and maybe there isn't much demand for Black history? And why should we have a holiday for MLK? There's too damned many holidays already, too many excuses to shut the schools and city offices down when the kids should be learning and government employees taking care of the business of the taxpayers.

I think you're just wrong, and you're over generalizing. I think most of the people really don't care what color you are and base their treatment of you on your behavior. If you've been as sanctimonious and condescending to people in real life as your were in your OP then I can fully understand why you're getting a negative reaction from the people around you.

Bottom line is that you can not expect everybody to like you, but you better respect me. Cause it is not fun being condescending and when you peeps say you feel sorry for me, ...
I do not care if people do not like me, but to you Phoenicians out there if you do not respect me I will show you the same kind of disrespect in a manner in which you will remember for a long time .

There you go again. I've been reading this thread and I haven't seen a single case of anybody insulting you. There have been some rather acerbic observations about you and I'm sure you didn't enjoy reading them, but I believe you fully deserve every criticism you've received.
You seem to believe you're smarter than everybody, yet you don't understand people well enough to get along with them without offending them. When you characterize yourself as being smarter than the rest of us, you're characterizing us as being dumber than you. Whether it's true or not you're certainly not being diplomatic.
You say that you don't care if people like you. Once again you're dropping clues as to what the real problem is. Maybe if you cared about people you might be a bit more empathetic and sympathetic. Maybe your real problem is that you project an aura of hostility and arrogance.
You also seem to not understand that respect is not given; it is earned. You're all ready to show disrespect to everybody now. Do you really think that's going to gain you anything except more negative reaction from the people around you?
It seems to me that the biggest problem with the people around you is you yourself. If your conduct in this forum is any indication of how you behave in real life, then you've got an attitude problem and you won't ever get along with people until you have an attitude adjustment.

Another in agreement with me. Yep!

Dating white women is nothing, you get stares everywhere you go or if you do something out of the ordinary. I had a relationship with a white girl in Kansas and a white girl from Iowa. Analyze your situation a little more and it is not really about race, more of the intelligence that I have a problem with. People here are not smart, and they let things be because they do not know what they want to do or say. The likelihood of them ever meeting a black person is slim. They are vague and keep to themselves here.

Perhaps the people are more intelligent than you think. I think everybody on CD has already got your number. You don't get along with people and blame it on everybody else. People don't do what you want them to so you fault them for their intelligence. I think it's more like people don't want to do what you want them to and it's YOUR intelligence to blame, for an inability or lack of effort to understand people and get along with them.
For the record, my cousin in Tempe is a White man married to a Black woman with biracial children and I've never heard any complaints about prejudice or intolerance from their family. They've since divorced but not for reasons of race. I don't believe your accusations of racial prejudice.

People of education and intelligence just naturally write things that are grammatically correct. Of course they make typographic errors, but anybody with a good education, for example, instead of typing "im not going to proofread everything i say" they'd type "
I'm not going to proofread everything
I say." Educated people don't just forget proper capitalization and punctuation. You're making grammatical mistakes, not typographical mistakes.
I'm not busting you for typographic mistakes. I'm busting you for a lack of being truthful to yourself about your intelligence. Either that or you just don't give a damn about appearances. Sloppy, sloppy. Just like your regard for getting along with the people around you. Probably sloppy there too.

You seem to be one clue short of a full understanding there podner. I think you may have left out New Mexico!
Let's not start slurring Texas now. There's nothin' wrong about Texas and no reason to bring them into this discussion.

It's not just Arizona. Arizona can't be any worse than Los Angeles. Actually I think part of the problem in America's schools is the students themselves, and their parents, and the other part of the problem is that American values have slipped.

I think the biggest credit to everybody participating in this discussion is that none have gotten acrimonious or hostile. There have been some harsh things said but I believe they were justified and were presented in a fair and courteous manner.
It's been an interesting debate, and in some ways almost a psychoanalysis. I hope the OP will take some of the criticisms to heart and realize that in any human interaction each party must do have of the work in getting along. I believe the OP has not been doing his own fair share.
