Is there construction on I-10 East coming out of Phoenix?
I went to Phoenix on Saturday and traffic on I-10 East coming out of the city (near Chandler Road) was basically stopped for at least a mile. When I went that direction later in the evening it was still at a standstill, and it added at least another hour to my trip. Is there some sort of construction going on in that area? I will be making a few more trips there from Tucson to look for housing and don't want to deal with that traffic if at all possible.

Fairly common for ADOT to close sections of road/freeway for construction from late Friday to early Monday morning.

Oh yeah, the lovely paving. Get off at the Loves Gas station exit and go up the side street past the mess and then get back on. Thats what us locals do.
If you need some more tips, feel free, its my territory. lol

They were putting down rubberized asphalt. Here's a link you can subscribe to so you know in advance what, where and when ADOT is up to something.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Twiggy, do you know approximately what mile # the Loves exit is at?
Also, does anyone know if that project is completed or if it will be going on for a while?
