I only saw it on the news since I live in Portland. However if its aliens, then maybe they can reply to my post on Phoenix since no earthlings that live there have.

The guy that settled this with his "explanation" was probably abducted by the spaceship and then they zapped his brain and told him what to say if anyone saw the lights. Im sure that is what happened here!
