Default Avondale & Glendale

Any thoughts, input or comments on these two areas?

I know A LOT of new development has happened in those areas and there are some great deals on new homes out there. Can someone direct me to those subdivisions?

THANKS!

I can comment on Avondale. I'm sure there are some nice(er) areas in Avondale, but there tends to be quite a bit of crime. I believe the areas north of I-10 are nicer, including Garden Lakes. We chose Goodyear and I'm glad that we did. Depending on your price range, you might consider different areas. I was warned by several people on this forum prior to moving here and I'm glad we heeded their advice. Houses look very nice and new on the internet and it is hard to believe that they can be in an unsafe area, but many of them are. Look at schools/crime reports very carefully.

I don't think Avondale would be a good long-term investment but if you're just renting for a while then that doesn't matter. If you are thinking of buying please check out things like school districts and crime rates. Even if you don't have children these things say a lot about your potential neighbors. Visit the area parks and grocery stores to see if you feel comfortable.
