You all must live in newer homes and with fewer people or I have a large leak. lol
2400 sf home, family of 5, my summer bill was around 500 a month and winter is around 200.
SRP, rate hikes, = $$$$.
My home is 20 yrs. old though. New builds are way more energy efficent.
I have a pool and an extra freezer in the garage. It adds up.

Hi,

If you already have the place picked out you can call the utility company and they can give you the high and low for the home. It is a great way to make sure the home is well insulted.

You can also always ask for the past 12 or 18 months for the electric bills from the current owner. They can get it pretty easy from the utility companies. EAch home is a little different so it is good to check on each one.

I hope that helps,
Stephen

Our highest was this past summer at just under $300 for a 1600 sqft, 1-story home
Our lowest was probably around $70 this year when we went the entire winter not turning on the heater once (our first winter here moving from New York so our blood was still thick!)

We have a 1400 square foot home and until recently a pool. Our rates are based on discounts between 9pm and 9am and averaged over the year. We pay ~$160 a month.

This is one of those rare times I'm glad I bought such a tiny place (600 sq ft.) A low of $40 in the winter. So far, a high of $70, which will probably go up pretty soon. Water and trash are included in my HOA, so that's just electricity.

I've been averaging 300-400 kWh per month according to SRP. But I'm naturally heat tolerant, so I keep the thermostat set at 85 during the summer, and if it's below 100, or even it's a little above 100, I turn off the AC and use a portable swamp cooler and ceiling fans. Since I moved here from New Jersey (seems to be a trend here,) I've never used my heat, though at night I turn on an oil-filled space heater in the bedroom. I have all LED lighting, except for a few CFLs and all new appliances, which probably helps a lot.

I have a 2500 sf home. It's around 150 winter and 500 to 600 a month in the summer for electric. I have a pool. My water bill is around 50 a month. The home is not efficient. Check the previous owner or renters bill through SRP to make sure they have an efficient home. Wish I would have done that with this home. That way you have no surprises.
I'm waiting for a new build right now which will lower my bills a lot. Can't wait. Suppose to be very efficient compared to the one I'm currently renting.

Ow. Our bill last month (June) was $176. We had reinsulated when when we rebuilt this old shack and put a new A/C in which was worth it. We are all electric here. In Vistancia our home (built in 04) was over $400 for the highest usage month.
