This is all just my .02 cents, but nothing is as classy as hard wood. I like tile here in AZ because it helps keep the house cool. I hate carpet of any type and don't have a stich of it in my house, not even the bed rooms.

I have been out looking for houses and I have seen all kinds of floorings. I did see one house with mostly hardwood floor and I truly like it. It gave a house a warm and calming feeling. I do think folks do not like it here because it is not cool to the touch. During this summer heat, walking on cold tile floors probably is more welcoming. I have also seen one that has concrete floor w/ lines scored to imitate large tiles. It cracked all over the place, with one huge one going clearly across the width of the house... very bad 1st impression!

i like the concrete look but i can see how the cracks would get annoying!
