I will be traveling for work, around Phoenix mostly...maybe 75%, but also a little in Scottsdale, Tempe, and even a little in Flagstaff. I dread being in a suit and tie in the heat, as I remember sweating to death daily in Florida. I assume I will still sweat like crazy, even in the dry heat ? I don't mind the heat so much on weekends, by the pool or near a nice lake...but the weeks in a suit scare me.
Also, we are looking for an apartment for the first year...2/2 for $1000/month or under....quiet safe area...just my wife and I. Any suggestions ? Should we be in Phoenix ? Scottsdale ? Thanks in advance !

I was in a suit all day last week in Phoenix for job interviews, my first time ever in Phoenix. Despite the fact it was 94 degrees, I hardly sweat at all. It didn't feel normal, especially coming from New York, where I would sweat in a suit when it is 75. Especially, being in the shade, it really was not that bad. I was warned, however, wait until it is 112.

Last summer, I was in Florida, when it was about 80 degrees at night, and I was just pouring out sweat, and it felt more like it was 90.
When I was in Phoenix last week, I saw the temperature was 84 at night, and I thought the thermometer was malfunctioning. It felt more like 65-70. The humidity was only about 10% though. I noticed at night, that once it was above 88 or so, the nights felt pretty uncomfortable, and during the day, even in the mid 80s in direct sun, was uncomfortable.

Our nights right now are PERFECT! In the summer, it's hot at night, but as long as you have the ac on, you will be fine. But like I said, the sun is the killer here. The direct sunlight makes it feel way hotter than it registers. But in the shade, it is more accurate. Some people love the extreme heat. It's a personal thing, you know?

Well I've been here over 30 yrs and hot is hot. Yes we have lower humidity. Its 84 degrees right now at 8:46 a.m. If I do errands in summer it is awful. You get in and out of your car in summer I hate it. But when I moved here I had not air in my car for over a year. I guess with youth you just take the heat better.
