I am moving to AZ in about 4 weeks( that is when my divorce will be final). What is a nice, safe area for kids and quiet. I am originally from Chicago..moved to Salt Lake City and now I am ready to finally able to enjoy AZ again. I was told about Maricopa but I don't know the area. Can someone help!!!
By the way, my new job is in Phoenix. |

I see you posted this question twice; once in the AZ category and here in the Phoenix category. So, to help you again....there are lots of nice areas around Phoenix to live. Where in Phoenix is your new job? Once we understand that, we can be more helpful to you in recommending nice areas. People refer to this entire area as Phoenix. There are lots of cities that are attached and surround the actual city of Phoenix. And, it is huge. Before we moved here, we thought my husband's job was in Phoenix too, but it was actually in Glendale.

I live in Anthem think it a great place to raise kids. Safe, quiet and generally friendly. It is islolate from the rest of the metro area, but that is blessing (quieter and more sense of community) and also a curse (farther away from many jobs). So depend on were you work and what level of commute is acceptable it can be great or not feasible.
BTW.. just saying your job is in Phoenix does not help us direct you to any communities. Phoenix is just too big. |

Check out South Chandler - moved here from the northeast and love it! Very family friendly. Good luck!

I know for a fact that the job is in AZ. I want to about Maricopa. Maricopa is about Southwest from Phoenix. I don't mind driving. I heard that the two cities are about 20 miles away from each other. This move is only for a year and then I will purchase a home in AZ then

Please know I wasn't questioning whether you know where the job is, I was kindly trying to help you know that the actual city of Phoenix is huge and the entire area of Phoenix is much larger. All of the surrounding cities connect to "Phoenix" and each other, so that most of the time you don't exactly know which city you're in because the boundaries are all over the place. Knowing where the job is (even an approx area) can help us "locals" help recommend cities and/or developments to you. Since you're already focusing on Maricopa, I'm sure others from Maricopa will reply to you. By the way, we have a Maricopa county here (encompassing quite a bit of the Phoenix area) and also the town of Maricopa (as you said south of Phoenix). Best wishes to you in your search!
