Annnnnd youve never been to Chicago, its apparent. Because if you have, youd have noticed every possible type of architecture to be found, and many examples of such.

And Im curious, what building in downtown PHX has "desert hues"? Looks like the normal brown/gray/white construction materials with your average glass to me!

If those are "desert hues", then most downtowns have those.

Tan, brown, copper, and blue are a sample, as you show one block downtown.

IMG_0005 copy pictures from cityscapes photos on webshots

But, lighht greens, hues of blue, deep reds (sedona red), magenta, brown (of course), pink, and so on.

And I have been to every major American city. And what can be found in Chicago, can be found in other cities. I think people are just in awe of the height (which Chicago has been surpassed by leaps and bounds by other cities), but I'm not and many more also are not.

What I find funny, is how people fall in love with Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, decide to move here, then locate to Surprise, East Mesa, Chandler, N. Phx, N. Scottsdale, 30 miles + from any central city location and complain about how boring it is. Well, no shiieeoot. Don't expect the same things in far flung suburbs and expanses of the city if you expect to still have world class resorts (Biltmore, Phoenician, Palms, Fairmont, and so on), museums (Pueblo Grande, Heard, Phoenix Museum of History, Phoenix Art Museum, Hall of Flame Fire Museum, and Musical Instrument Museum opening 2010 all rated 5 star and are world renouned), clubs (Scottsdale, downtown-Amsterdam in downtown Phoenix was rated the number one gay club in the nation- and Tempe for the college crowd), restaurants, and on and on.

No, what is found in Chicago cannot be found in all other cities (Im not talking height either). There are soooo many different styles and colors of buildings in Chicago that its mind blowing. You could spend a lifetime in downtown alone soaking in all the designs and details and still not see it all.

In this photo alone I see brown, tan, white, silver, blue, red, black, eggplant, etc, as well as dozens of different architectural styles. And this is only about 1/5 of downtown...

I see one red looking building, and a wall of slightly different hues of gray.

If you want a feel for what CENTRAL areas of Phoenix offer, read this:
Spring 2008 | The Valley of the Sun | OutTraveler.com

It's a gay travel magazine and online article about Phoenix. And let's be honest, being gay myself, we are amongst the most critical and diversity seeking people (I know kind of a stereotype, but there is truth in that). Read what there is to do in Phoenix, and not far flung suburbs.

Well, being gay has nothing to do with being critical and/or diversity seeking people. Im as straight as an arrow and am the same way. And I can tell you right now, the gay scene in PHX is small and weak compared to other large cities. You might want to look into "Boystown" in Chicago, its an entire neighborhood that is 100% gay-friendly, with awesome PT access and relatively close to downtown Chicago which, as you well know, offers eons more to do than downtown PHX.

Please, weak??? You may want to, no you need to revamp that statement forthwith girl!!! LOL Melrose, Roosevelt, Willo, Coronado are all 100% gay-friendly if not overrun with our folk. All these neighborhoods ARE in downtown or are also next to downtown. Sorry, but you don't know what your talking about. And read the article, Phoenix is among the cities with the highest per capita gay bars/establishments in the nation. For examples, Charlie's, a Phoenix gay bar has the same namesake establishment in Denver, Vegas, and Chicago and Phoenix's is by far the largest and most frequented of the others. This is just one example, there are "eons" more in Phoenix.

I wasnt talking about "eons" more gay stuff in Chicago, but rather "eons" more to do downtown in general. Sorry if you misunderstood.

You guys have entire neighborhoods that proudly flaunt being gay?

All I know is that the kind of jobs I am looking at within the Phoenix area pay over $60,000 a year. One job that I am in the running for pays $90,000 for. Currently in the 3rd round of talks for that job. I have seen many positions in the $50,000 range but then I want more.
