Default Things to do in Laveen?

I just moved to Laveen. My neighborhood is BEAUTIFUL (Trailside point at 67th Ave and Southern). The commute isn't bad either. I couldn't be happier. The community is super safe, quiet, etc.

The only thing is, I'm curious about what there is to do in town. Any ideas? I can always drive into Phoenix, but am curious about the local flavor.

Thanks in advance for sharing!

It's the same as any other city around Phoenix. What did you do in your old neighborhood? There's restaurants and bars, golf courses, Cesar Chavez park, you could go fishing, the Casino. There's a BBQ at the school early every year (which is way over rated). I drove to Maricopa today, where my friend lives and we shot our guns in the desert.

My good friend lives in Trailside Point! Glad you like it

There is a lot of negativity towards Laveen on this board, so I just wanted to warn you. Don't get turned off if a bunch of posters reply on how Laveen isn't safe...blah blah blah. I happen to really like Laveen as well so obviously not everyone feels the same!

There really ISN'T much to do in Laveen, though. Fishing at the lake a Ceaser Chavez park, golfing, and other outdoor activities are always available. But you can do that sort of thing almost anywhere across the valley.

What I like about Laveen IS that it's so close to downtown and not too far from Tempe. Unlike other areas such as Gilbert, that makes it ok that there isn't really anything to do there.

Quissience is the name of the restaurant. I think it is at the Farm at South Mountain. Also, Los Dos Molinos is a good small Mexican restaurant. It is on Central just south of Baseline. Pizza Amano Bistro is a nice Italian restaurant and is off of Baseline and 12th St.

There is not a lot to do until more stuff is built right now.
