The Phoenix New Times is a very biased newspaper with many negative "Sheriff Joe" reports. Just like the article quoted by a poster in this forum from a website that favored illegal immigration, one has to really consider the source.

p.s. I don't think anybody from outside of Maricopa Co. has posted anything negative about our beloved "nickel bag" Joe. I would have to go through the whole thread again.......I'm pretty sure everyone outside of the County is part of the "I Love Joe" Fan Club.

If every sherriff, USA would do what Sherriff Joe is doing, our national debt would decrease, we'd get American jobs back to Americans and hospital, doctor and gas costs would level off. Those who are abusing our system are draining our resources.

Are you serious? You do realize that he used the entire years budget in like three months? Right?

Plus, high gas prices has zero to do with illegals...Please correlate high gas to illegals.

maybe the fact that our dollar is A LOT WEAKER then it used to be. The oil companies want more of our $$$$ for their product. If something cost 50 cents.. and suddenly the dime was only worth 5 cents.. you'd have to spend 10 dimes to get the item that is worth 50 cents.


The fact that illegal's work in this country, send the money back to their country might have something to do with the rising cost of oil..


Keep defending illegal's. I bet your own ancestors did things the legal way. Came here, and flourished after hard work, and made this country the best in the world.. If your willing to give that all up for people that have no regard for the laws, or for the quality of life we enjoy here in the states, then so be it.


Sheriff Joe should be given whatever it takes to clean up the streets. This city has so much potential to be one of the best in the world. What the Sheriff is doing will help bring this area of the country to the next level.

Not defending illegals. Just pointing out the horrible correlation between oil and illegals..my god...LOL

The oils companies are far from hurting. They are not rising prices in order o just breaking even...They are all reporting record numbers...

That's untrue. If illegals work here, and send our money back to the "old country", that hurts the value of the dollar. Not to mention if these guys are working, and not paying taxes, thats even worse. I understand some illegals are paying taxes, but still, it's unacceptable. You can't say illegals to some degree aren't hurting the value of the dollar.

Hurting value of the dollar means prices go up. Plain and simple. You are correct when you say the price of oil isn't 100% thanks to the illegals. You are certainly incorrect if you believe they aren't PART of the problem....

Another way to look at it is, if there are more people here than should be (illegals), there are more cars being driven, and more people needing to be warmed in the winter creating a larger demand for gas and oil. More demand always drives the prices up.
