This is an invasion, and one that is crushing us financially. If anyone does not see that, they are blind or ignorant. You feel like paying for all of that ? GREAT ! You pay for it....house a family....pay for their doctors....pay for their kids to go to school...feed them...pay for their jails and prisons, all while losing your job to them if you are a blue collar worker. I am all for voluntary charity, but I do NOT want the government giving away my money to people that have no right to be here.
My family is hispanic....LEGAL. I am a white collar worker...no job loss here. But if you do not see the damage that this is doing to our country, you are , well...you know.

Yeah crazy stat. But I think there are to many stupid laws encourging them to come here that should be reconsidered like welfare, free healthcare, birth law ,Etc. You gotta get tough on securing the border from both sides. Over 6000 people have been killed in mexicos southern border towns and its spilling over. And 19 911 terrorists crossed the canadian side. Point is there most be strict policies in place to get rid of this like death penalty for getting caught crossing the border the second time and build a state of the art fence with national guard ready to shoot and kill and maybe sonares for the ground. People have dug underground to get here. I don`t wanna sound like a bad person but the stats above prove immagration is no laughing matter.

If you have court you do not get breakfast--You are not guilty of anything but you have to wait for dinner.. One meal a day must be just fine by Joe and his henchmen.....Only Maricopa releases prisoners after midnight..Joe wants the meal money and does not want to supply the meals- no phone calls allowed- hopefully depending on the night you can make it to public phones several blocks away.. Remember Sheriff Joe wants the meal money ( 80 cents for two meals?)... I live outside the country and am appalled that someone with such a bully mentality can control a county for so long.. Even some of his sheriff jailers seem to be lacking in the IQ area---My passport was not sufficient for one of them as I tried to visit someone in jail-- The sheriff wanted a driver's license with an address....I live out of the country and there are no addresses- other than that my license has a photo etc and a magnetic information strip- just like yours and is a government issued ID....An address in my resident country is by location....No house numbers and there may or may not be a street name. Only in Maricopa county was a USA passport almost not sufficient for entry as a jail visitor....I had to argue and explain that a passport was a government issued ID by the country where one finds Maricopa county and was all the proof needed for entry into the USA and since when can a county or anyone refuse a passport as a Government issued ID?.....Such stupidity...... Also the jails will not accept $100 dollar bills-- As far as the treasury department is concerned- they are legal tender- and only private entities or privately owned entities such as McDonalds, gas stations, stores etc can make a policy to refuse large bills...Their reason, I found out was too many counterfeit bills (thanks to a Sgt. Douglas)- the sheriffs could not discern real from fake but if you or I passed one by trying to use it to unknowingly to pay for merchandise, we will go to Joe's jail if the store calls the cops....Last visit to AZ I received a counterfeit $100 bill from a Bof A teller in amongst other real bills....Luckily I did not use it and when presented to my bank at home, they showed me why it was counterfeit...This man has demonstrated a "bully mentality" and is a blackeye for Maricopa county......Tent city equates to the worst of the central American jails.... Maricopa county as of 2000- 2006 has had 77 deaths in the jails... and is #3 in the nation.... Denying insulin- Quadriplegic falling 4 feet and sustaining such massive injuries-- Both died..No other law enforcement agency in the United states has even a 1/3 of the lawsuits against them - both federal and civil...Quite a distinction....One more reason why I would never live here...Very expensive for this county when you as the tax payers pay for the high dollar private attorneys for Joe (county attorneys are not good enough?) and then the judgements== this must be a rich county to afford to keep Sheriff Joe.. What a shame- that all the sheriffs here must live with the stigma of Joe...Some of them I am sure are great peace officers and are not wallowing in the rot produced by Sheriff Joe and the other bad apples.
I truly do not understand how the people of Maricopa County can keep electing someone who portrays this FLAMBOYANT THEATRICAL CARICATURE OF A SHERIFF who has a bully mentality and is so full of himself..He must be above your laws because no one so far has forced him to account for his actions and dictator policies but most of all it appears you as residents do not make the sheriffs dept. account for the funds from all sources of revenue that this despicable jail system produces. So many of the revenue accounting books are closed- so instead of the funds supplementing the jail costs, it is in someone's pocket according to what I have read....Most of the Maricopa county residents, the judges, the county officials are afraid it appears to step on this two headed snake..I will continue to live where corruption is everyday, the bushmaster (the longest venomous snake in the New World ) rules, but the branches of the police force, Gov. attorneys and the courts do investigate and do prosecute....By the way I am preceeded by generations of law abiding USA citizens and am the first to reside out of the USA. Yes I pay taxes both here and there....

Nobody's ignoring methlabs and other issues, but you forgot to mention that illegals are also involved with plenty of serious crimes that seem to account for a considerable percentage of crimes.

Racial Profiling? I don't think so - If somebody, regardless of race, came into your neighborhood and committed a crime, would it be racial profiling if you called the police and reported the crime? Illegals committed a crime by coming into this country illegally, so racial profiling doesn't apply here.

Unlike many of the liberals on this thread; I live and work on the AZ/MX border. I have been the victim of a home invasion by an illegal alien and many of my friends who are naturalized US Citizens and "Legal" permanent residents have had their Social Security numbers stolen by these well intentioned, hard working undocumented immigrants that you love so much. Their credit is now ruined and the IRS is forcing them to pay taxes on income they never even earned. Our Federal government fails to protect us from this tidal wave of lawlessness. DHS routinely issues 6 month, $6.50 travel permits to unemployed people from 3rd world countries and they wonder why they never go back home. The system is set up in a way that encourages criminals to enter and discourages good people with something to offer with miles of red tape. I find it humorous that the liberals on this thread conveniently ignore the millions of crimes perpetrated by this illegal horde and instead concentrate on a few instances where a handful of them didn't get their chicken dinner in jail. I think that if we could send some of these illegal alien burglars, drug dealers, rapists, murderers and child molesters into the homes or neighborhoods of our elected liberal elites, things would change for the better very quickly. Sheriff Joe is one of the only elected officials in this country who actually listens to his constituents and locks up criminals. He doesn't let a group of 50 out of town kooks with media coverage push him around like so many others would. Not only does this bother a few people but he has also raised their ire by having a substantial amount of money and making investments with it which goes against their Socialist doctrine. If he is 72 and has about 50 working years under his belt than I'm not sure why his investments are that out of the ordinary.

When a MCSO pulls over an American Citizen because they resemble an illegal from South of the Border then it becomes racial profiling.

How about 'profiling' American Citizens who may resemble illegal alien Irish back east? Face it: one would not be looking for Mestizos---------never mind that some Irish people are indeed dark with brown hair and eyes.

Suffice to say: it would not bother me if the cops mistook me for an illegal Irishman if I still lived back east----------if it meant snagging illegals.
