Obviously, you support the illegals in Arizona. You are in the minority.

Sigh. Another conservative who does not get shades of gray. I would prefer that the thousands of felons be rounded up before he stops people just for looking like they might be here illegally. To do so goes against the rule of law. To go and lock up felons would be in favor of the law. BTW, feel free to actually back up what you say. Sorry doesn't cut it.

Way to go Sherrif Joe!!!!!!!!!!! He is doing his job! People who come into this country illegally are breaking the law. They do not pay taxes, they are breaking federal laws. They break laws by coming here illegally. Maybe if you lived right here in Phoenix and see the way this place is you may understand. I personally do not like illegals running around and am very happy if someone does something about it! If you want to come into this country, you do so the legal way. It is so outrageous that education is free for illegals, medical services, free. It is about time employers get held accountable for hiring illegals. YEAH Sherrif Joe! Tax dollars I have no problem giving!

The rule of law makes it illegal to enter the United States without permission. The rule of law makes the stealing of idenity a felony. The rule of law makes it illegal to hire those here illegally.

The citizens of the State of Arizona, and the United States, want those here illegally dealt with harshly and deported. The Sheriff of Maricopa County, and other counties in the United States are authorized, by having their officers federally sworn, apprehending, detaining, and arranging for deportation of illegal immigrants.

OBTW - as for your comment about backing up my info? No need to - the rule of law is public record.

The rule of law is that it's against the law to do what Sheriff Joe does - which is to hunt down illegals by stopping people who look like they might not be here legally. The rule of law DEMANDS that loose felons be put in prison if that is where they belong. Speak for yourself in the bolded statement above, as I am not of the same sentiment. I am of the sentiment that I want my tax dollars to fund efforts at apprehending and incarcerating loose felons before any efforts to stop people with dark skin and ask for their papers. And I think we're done with our discussion, as we are not, nor ever will be, on the same page.

This I will say: I have no use for illegal immigrants------no matter their race/ethnicity

I have no problem with putative 'racial profiling' if there is probable cause------the cold reality is that most illegals here (85%) in the USA are from either Mexico or Central America and most of the above happen to be Mestizo hence having dark skin and straight hair.

BTW: when I was younger I was 'profiled' by law enforcement because I resembled a stereotypical marijuana user..........oh well.

The MCSO, and other law enforcement agencies including the Phoenix PD, are authorized to inquire as to the immigration status of those they stop. They are authorized to turn illegals over to ICE.

I see 8 to 10 DHS buses a day, full of illegals on their way to being deported.

I've read your other posts and know you do feel strongly about this issue and that's ok with me. I also feel strongly that I am in greater danger by having tens of thousands of loose felons running around this town than some illegals who want to cut palm trees and send money home to Mexico. Different priorities but I will stand by mine.

As a taxpayer - I'm tired of paying 1.3 billion dollars to serve illegals -

The citizens of Arizona are tired of it also. We are tired of the increased crime brought on by illegals - 3 police officers were shot and killed this past year by illegals. A serial rapist recently caught was an illegal - The Mexican mafia is running human smuggling rings -

No - the war is on against those here Illegally.

And a vast majority of Arizonans, and Americans, support strong enforcement action being taken against those here illegally

Ahhh...the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Phoenix people cheering Sheriff Dip Sh#t. There's a shocker. Meth labs, shoot outs on the street...nah...forget about it. The Sheriff is going to throw everything he's got at those hives of crime - taco stands!

Only in Arizona would people claim that the "American public" support such racist raids. Funny that every candidate for office that ran on the "round up the Mexicans" ticket went nowhere in the Republican nomination. Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter did so well! And now the Republicans have nominated McCain, one of the few Republicans who hasn't been willing to throw his lot in with the rest of the right wing crazies.

Also love how the round them up crazies are defending racial profiling! Of course those people fail to see the irony that racial profiling is unconstitutional and thus REALLY illegal! So much for the "rule of law."
