I guess it's just fun discussing food/restaurants!

Places I like to go-

Sassi (North Scottsdale), great Southern Italian food.

Vincent's on Camelback- The bistro is nice on the weekends. Dinner at night is great.

Four Peaks in Tempe- Great scene, good beer and great food.

Tepee Mexican- On Indian School just west of 44th St.

Cafe Boa- Mill Avenue in Tempe

Sposatos(sp?)- Great calzones, best I have had and I am from Connecticut (New Haven). Have 3-4 locations in Phoenix. One on Glendale Avenue west of 16th st.

Kona Grill- For happy hour. Good food and great atmosphere @ Scottsdale Fashion Square or Chandler Mall.

Durant's- Good steakhouse, a valley tradition for years. On Central in uptown.

PIZZERIA BIANCO- This place competes with New Haven Pizza. If anyone knows pizza, the best is in New Haven.

Oops. sorry for not realizing how old the orginal post was. I'm new at the posting thing and obviously green...
My regards to CHris Bianco for omitting Pizzaria Bianco...good pie-very nice guy too. He won the coveted James Beard award winner for PIZZA...not an easy thing to pull off. He puts every pizza he sells into the oven HIMSELF. Got to admire that kind of dedication.

Downtown (OldTown) Scottsdale: Sea Saw, Estate House, Confection, FoodBar, Fine's Cellar, all are on or close to Stetson Rd. almost any of the newer restaurants will be yummy. North Sct. : Zinc Bistro, Binkley's, Mosaic,Sassi.
Biltmore/Arcadia: closer to where you will be: Christopher's (will be opening new place-name to be determined..look up Chef Christopher Gross.), Delux, La Fontanella (best Italian in Arizona), La Grande Orange (a few cute restaurants there), the Vig (good for atmosphere- food pretty good too), Vincent's Bistro Market.
Downtown Phoenix- Cibo, Palette, Matt's Big Breakfast, Portland's, BARRIO CAFE !!!,
If that is not enough or if you have specific questions, let me know. I'm happy to help!
I've read a lot of people offer advice on restaurants and I disagree with their choices 99% of the time. I think your selections are excellent and I agree with them. Great advice! Two thumbs up

lulubug, you may also want to participate in the Chowhound board, which is exclusively focused on restaurants, as opposed to relocation issues like this one.
