We currently live in Illinois and are wanting to relocate somewhere warmer. Hubby is an electrician doing mostly new residential. He also does remodels, some industrial and commercial. He has 4 years of experience.
We figure now is the best time to move as our kids are still young. ( 9 months, 3, and 4) The company he works for is great, yet the future is very uncertain. His boss is getting older and the company may just end then. They have also been getting very slow recently. He is not union. So, anyone on here an electrician? Are homes still going up there? I homeschool (or plan to) so schools aren't that big an issue for us. We would rent the first year or so |

Homes are still going up, but at a MUCH slower rate. There will be some jobs, but not as many by a long shot as just a year to two ago.

Up in my area (Prescott), residential construction is generally very slow except for some high-end custom homes. Commercial, though, is going full speed.

Surprise is really booming....if you are not interested in the local schools (which are not so great). Besides the school systems it's a great town that's really on the move.
