lol
Yeah, the women might be hotter in Scottsdale (no doubt due to all the transplants--theyre not natives), but I dont think theyre necessarily smarter. Scottsdale attracts the "like, oh...my...gosh" crowd, Santa Fe attracts the artist/intellectual crowd.

FCorrales, as a gay man myself, I'm not sure I follow your "big mouth" explanation, unless you mean you had to develop a big mouth because you have a military background. LOL.
Anyway, I maintain a lively interest in AZ, having lived there for many years. I enjoyed Scottsdale very much, but I think I can look at it objectively. It always seemed to be self focused, and the chief preoccupation of the city, and it shows so evidently in the zillions of stores and malls, is SHOPPING! Even a casual visitor will see that immediately. Not culture and the arts and history and intellectual pursuits.
I like to come on these forums to read objective opinions and give as objective advice as I can, but everyone has his opinions. I don't think it helps to flame on people who disagree with you and flame other states like NM. I think it detracts from all the other lively and interesting things you have to say about AZ. And, you know, not all opinions are equal, some are better than others, better grounded, better informed, more true.
As to the debate about dry heat, it does seem all very silly in the end. Although I enjoy dry heat myself, and prefer the deserts, it is only to a point true that a hot dry day is better than a humid day. A day in the desert over 110, no matter how dry, is just as oppressive as any hot humid day in the mid 90s anywhere in the tropics or sub tropics. It's just like trying to prove which vision of hell is better.

While I don't care for the humid heat of Florida, and many other parts of the nation, one benefit to a "wet heat" is that they usually get rain to help cool down the temperatures. Florida's rainy season is June through October ... so even though it can be hot & miserable when the sun's out, it often is broken up by rain showers that make it feel more comfortable.
In contrast, the heat here is more miserable because the sun is constantly blazing day after day after day after day after day after day!!! No rain, except once in a brief while during the monsoon. You're actually more prone to heat stroke in Arizona because you don't sweat as much, being that the heat is so dry. Moisture is actually drained from your body in a dry climate, making heat related illness much more common here than in humid climates.
