As is the usual, there are many different slants/statistics, etc., on any subject. Here are more statistics to show you what "Right to Work" laws do, other than the union issues.

Our first set of regression results indicate that workers living in right-to-work states earn 6.5% less than comparable workers in non-RTW states. This regression model essentially compares workers with similar demographics (education, age, race, etc.) and occupations within an industry across the two types of states, those with RTW laws and those without. The second regression model controls for different state effects not captured by industry and occupation, partially capturing price differences between states. These results indicate that a worker living in a right-to-work state earns, on average, 7.8% less than a comparable worker in a non-RTW state. The final regression model compares workers with similar demographic, industry and occupations but also controls for cost of living using an index of the fair market rents. These results indicate that, on average, a worker living in a right-to-work state earns 3.8 % less than a worker living in a non-RTW state. Estimates from this last regression model, however, are suspect given the lack of an established series for controlling for regional, inter-state, or intra-state costs of living (see Table 1). Our best estimate is that workers living in right-to-work states earn, on average, 6.5% less than similar workers in non-RTW states.
At least they have a job. Union shop states are bleeding (hemorrhaging) manufacturing jobs to the southern RTW states. My personal opinion is that the decline and fall of the labor union is bad for the workers. Most of the few workplace benefits we have as Americans are due to union activity. But the global market is dictating the terms now and hard times are ahead for US workers who are going to see their standard of living drop sharply in the coming years. Might as well move to AZ and get it over with quick, eh?

Hello, I'm an SAP PS consultant. Does anyone know of any companies that run SAP software other than those in the East valley? I currently live in Surprise and am trying to find a job closer to home.

Thanks.

Thank you very much Twiggy, very kind of you.
However, I do not believe sense of humor along will get me a nice, cute girl. It is usually a guy with looks or $$ + sense of humor that girls want (but will not admit).
A good sense of humor alone is like using, Higher Octane fuel and/or using synthetic oil in a car like Ford Pinto and expect it to go like a Ford Mustang 5.0, it just won't happen!!

Besides, from what I noticed, there are too many girls with silicons who generally lack the intelligence to appreciate a guy with sense of humor (and the other way around).

Smile Taco Bell and Walmart thats Phoenix

I worked there at Taco Bell. Of course you are asking in the wrong place. People on this board are not a good snap shot of the whole Phoenix Job base. These are the people who have real jobs. The truth is that Phownix is a Wal Mart, Taco Bell, Warehouse and Service job type of place. I think that is about 70% of the Jobs here.

I would grab the Ford Pinto with the funny fuel and never look back. Done the money guys and the "I'm prettier than you" guys and they really don't out run the Pintos for me. I have never meant (and I have pretty friends) another friend who wants a guy cuter than her. And money, well, that helps but it's not a end all. A decent job, not lazy, is better than a guy with money who can buy something cuter than you as well.
I better stop before I get another infraction. he he I've been naughty this week, need to learn to keep my trap shut.
I'll see you on the community forums, well talk there. Meanwhile, get back to your job! ha ha Hijacker!

Residential Designer - I'm careful not to say the "A" word here - and have been in business for myself for 21 years. Love what I do, with the exception of the economic roller coaster. Had I known about economics 101, I believe I would had opted out as a mortician or tax collector. Steady work to be found in either.

Hey, I am finding that out, but that, I hate to tell you, is what most places in America becoming. Few highly skilled jobs, and the midrange jobs are gone overseas, and then the low pay, no benefits service sector retail or call center garbage.

I was just smacktalking but if I was serious then what you said would be very true Sablebaby!
Truth be told, I have been a bachelor for too long and am really enjoying it and not really putting the effort in looking for one, despite occasional envy of happy-looking couples. I mostly ride my bike or go see a movie or do shopping on my free time, I don't socialize too well so it is my fault.
