I took Motley to the vet and there was a little chihooey dog there that wanted to play. Motley weighs over 260 lbs. The little dog scared him and he peed all over the lobby and tried to hide behind me.

MotleyCrew, I've seen this many times from bigger dogs. I think they are unsure of what a Chihuahua is, LOL! My moms 110 lb dog upon first seeing Chompers (5 lbs.) run at him, stood up and ran backwards knocking over a table and breaking a lamp. Now they are cool with each other.

So Im a wimp I guess? Lovely. Hey, Ive hiked Camelback in 116 degrees, hiked 10 miles through Saguaro National Park in almost the same heat, and spent the wee morning hours (when it was still 90+ degrees) hunting tarantulas/scorpions/rattlesnakes/etc and removing jumping cholla needles from my legs and gear, and hiked in the Phoenix Mountain Preserves when it was 115 one day. Mummy Mountain and the Superstitions were easily as hot and about as much "fun". Yes, the heat is horrid. Worst Ive ever experienced, but it didnt slow me down.

Here, come to Chicago in January on one of the sub-zero nights and see if you dont complain. Then I can label you as a "wimp" too. Just messin....

I've lived in colder places, Ft. Drum, NY, North Dakota, Alaska, Northen Islands of Japan, been to Iceland, and Minneapolis in February...when it was minus some ridiculous number. I'm actually a big fan of extremes, thats why you will never hear me complain about shoveling snow or the cold. I only adhor the humidity I experienced in places like Chicago and the East and South...nasty, nasty stuff! I lived in Flagstaff before Phoenix and the coldest temp. experienced there was -16...but I know the coldest it has been in Flagstaff was -30. The coldest it has ever been in AZ was at Hawley Lake, -43 degrees.

Did you know, LOL, I love facts sorry, the coldest ever recorded in Chicago was -27 degrees and in Illinois was -36 degrees. Not bad! The hottest ever recorded in Chicago was 105 degrees and 117 in Illinois. The coldest ever recorded in Phoenix was 16 degrees and the hottest 122. The hottest ever recorded in Arizona was in the low desert towards Death Valley and that was 128.

Its only 98 degrees now, but 19% percent humidity . I bet it's pretty nasty in Chicago with all that humidity. Sticky icky icky!

Yes, its sticky today, and yesterday too. Good thing is today is the last day, with humidities dropping nicely as the temps, too. Highs in the low 80s and mid 70s this weekend. Ahhhhhhh. Ill take a few days here and there with high humidity so I can enjoy drier air WITH cool temps, unlike most other places this time of year. Besides, I get all the skin-cracking dry air I want in winter.

You know what's funny, the little dogs are more likely pack leaders. Humans let them be because they are no real threat and they are cute little buggers (even when they are mean we just laugh). But to a big dog it doesn't matter the size, if they are a pack leader, they are the dominating dog. Big dogs usually are the followers because of their owners. People seem to train large dogs better because they are obviously a problem if they become a pack leader in the home. But no one worries about a little cute baby ripping their face off, so they get to lead the humans in their pack. lol Watch the "Dog Whisperer", it's a great show. You should see how much the dogs problems are really the humans problems. I think it's on the National Geograp. channel. 107 in Chandler.
