Yes, its the first in AZ I believe at 19th Ave and Bethany Home...quite nice I might add. The outside reminds me of pictures from Christown when it was new...looks kind of "mod" and has a circular theme for the windows and hanging decor. I think you'll like it, deli is really nice too.

Is Fry's typically a more expensive grocery store, where else do you guys go that have reasonable prices and decent food. Am I better off at Food City, Basha's, Safeway, or Albertson's. I would prefer not to go grocery shopping at Wal-Mart.

Watch your Tuesday/Wednesday circulars for sales. If you do so, you can plan your shopping at a variety of stores and save money. Sprouts is good for produce. I usually do all my shopping at Costco, which has the best values, minus produce. I find having a separate freezer helps too when things are on sale.

Thanks for the info. I live in Tucson. Just asking...
Speaking of delis, does anybody have an idea why doesn't the rest of the country have delis like in NYC? It'd be so wonderful! Guess the margin is not good. Since even restaurants have hard time turning profits, it's probably even harder for delis...
If I were living in NYC, I wouldn't be even shopping for groceries or cooking. Such a great choice at very reasonable prices! I've been to NYC only once, about 5 years ago, and got dinner a couple of times from delis. A great dinner with desert didn't even cost $10!

You need to make a trip to Downtown, there are more deli's down here then I can even remember. Many are owned by Italian families and NY transplants.

Then you're in luck! I didn't know that. I've just never noticed as many delis as in NYC anywhere.
Can we have some NY transplants down here, too, please?

There is a SuperTarget in Queen Creek with a large food department. The selection is as extensive as Walmart's. I find SuperTarget to be a tad more expensive than Walmart, but not as pricey as Safeway or Albertsons. To me Target's meat department is better, but I prefer Sprout's meats over either of them.
There are a lot of SuperTargets with food like that in Texas, too.

My fav's downtown so far are Calabria, New York NY, Arcadia Farms, Athenian (not really a traditional deli but amazing sandwiches of Greek influence), Downtown Deli, Bickoff's, and not downtown are Karsh's, Saks (midtown near Central Ave.), Chompies, Rheinland (German), Best of Europe, Brooklyn's Best Bagel and Deli, Goldman's, Scott's Generations Deli, and a few more.

I think that making sure that everyone knows about the price matching policy is a good way to cost them hundreds.

I had never seen that advertised, that is good to know though. I was a little leery of their meats, but maybe that's just my own biases.
